Part T
This CPD provides technical guidance on the design and layout of universal toilets, ambulant toilets, and toilet cubicle requirements of the Building Regulations. Approved Document T applies to new buildings other than dwellings and buildings undergoing a material change of use. We can provide useful training to establish when this will be an applicable requirement and wayfinding around the Building Regulation statutory instrument. We will provide training on the technical requirements noted in the Approved Document and clarify the government policy goals, which include the following:
Guidance to ensure separate toilets for men and women continues to be provided.
Encouraging the provision of unisex toilets where space allows.
Ensuring that where unisex toilets are provided, privacy is maintained.
Building Safety Act
The Building Safety Act 2022 and subsequent changes to secondary legislation have presented the construction industry with the biggest shake-up in 40 years. These changes apply to all buildings, irrespective of height and use. This CPD can be expanded into an interactive workshop, allowing participants to explore important questions about the new regulatory regime. The workshop focuses on key changes in the Building Regulations, introducing duty holders, their responsibilities, duties, and the importance of establishing competency within the project team. It also examines compliance declarations, the implications for duty holders, and the completion process at the end of a project. This is critical knowledge for all those involved in the design and construction process from cradle to grave.
