Under the new regime Building Control bodies are not permitted to provide design advice to duty holders. Where previously you might have received assessments and advice on compliance prior to submitting a Building Control application, Building Control providers are no longer able to participate in this type of consultancy.

You will be assigned a consultant who will be your point of contact throughout the process.
We will carry out a desktop review of the initial design information. Our aim is to thoroughly review all design information prior to submission of a Building Control application to your chosen building control body. We will highlight any potential compliance issues and bring to your attention any additional information that we feel would be required to submit as part of a Building Control application, but also to allow the Principal Contractor to price and complete the works.
Following our initial drawing review, we will formulate a Building Regulations Compliance Report that will support the available design information in demonstrating compliance with the Building Regulations. Our report will detail compliance with each part of the Building Regulations and highlight any additional requirements that may be necessary to submit to the Building Control body, either at the time of making an application or upon completion of works.
We are available to assist with compliance issues and interpretation variances that may occur for any project, either at application stage or during the course of construction works.
We can provide workshops to architects, designers and contractors on all aspects of the Building Regulations. We can attend your practice or office to provide advice to your team on any projects you are currently working on, and to assist with the overview of design compliance.
The responsibility for providing assurance of compliance with the Building Regulations lies with the Client / Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. We can assist with these important duties by using our technical expertise to assess design compliance and give advice to reduce the risk of applications being rejected at submission stage.
We can provide a third-party expert inspection service to supplement the standard building inspector key stage inspection plan provided by your chosen Building Control body.
Our Building Control Consultancy team have a wealth of experience in the Building Control sector gained from long-term experience operating within the UK Regulatory structure. As from the 1st April 2024 our consultants will be BSR registered Building Inspectors, proofing our dedication to competence in the profession. We are conversant with the Building Regulations and Building Control application process and have extensive knowledge regarding interpretation of the guidance documents where prescriptive adherence to standards is not always provided, allowing a subjective approach in some cases.
We can provide design advice & support from early conception, through to completion of the project, & as well as guide you through the Building Control application process to minimise the risk of having your application rejected.
